Keep Rolling

Getting older, gathering responsibilities and life-long chronic conditions. I needed an outlet for better mental health.
I’m not just relearning tricks. I’m rebuilding a piece of myself I thought I’d lost. Four wheels, and everything crossed.

CheezToasty Skateboards is what happens when a skater grows up, becomes a dad, realises he hasn’t grown up at all and regresses. Armed with bad knees, a bum shoulder, a keener sense of self-preservation, and something to prove. This isn’t some pro comeback story – it’s the raw, real journey of a skater-dad chasing the tricks he left behind in the. No sponsors, no padded edits. Just one crusty manual pad, a lot of complaining, and maybe a camera pointed at the chaos.
Here you’ll find the sessions, the setbacks, and the gear that helps me stay rolling. I’m not here to be the best – I’m here to get up when I fall, again and again. Whether you’re a lapsed skater, a curious parent, or just into the idea of skateboarding as a form of therapy, welcome.
This is CheezToasty. The skater. The blog. The ride.
Why I do this
Somewhere between old skate tapes and busted trucks, I fell back in love with simplicity. One trick at a time, one clean line at a time – that’s the beauty of starting over.
Quality matters when your health is your most valuable commodity
This comeback’s not just mine – it’s a ride-along. Whether you’re a lapsed skater, curious dad, or just chasing your own version of ‘flow,’ you’re in it with me. This isn’t about going back – it’s about being the best version of me moving forward.
Why 'Toasty?
I get asked ‘why CheezToasty?’ – I just like toasted cheese sandwiches and needed a unique name about 25 years ago. And so it was…
Why not Just Use Your Name?
This is a serious departure from the other hats I find myself wearing, and I like the idea that one day maybe my kids, maybe a colleague, maybe whoever… figures it out, and learns about a side of me they either didn’t know about or assumed had died long ago. More about me HERE.
